It's amazing how much adjustment those repo pieces need just to fit.
I avoided working on some brands of cars because the parts were so bad.
They would have all been GM products wouldn't they?
GM was bad, BMC was the worst, especially when they became British Leyland.
Best part about Fords in the mid to late 60's & onwards, was they were painted in baked enamel. Real easy to use the grinder on. Holden used backed acrylic & it just melted into the sanding disk, pain in the arse.
Torana's were crap, probably the worst was the hatchback, not that the LC & LJ were any better.

Not uncommon Pete, a white undercoat is often used to brighten a red top coat. From experience, avoid a grey primer if using a light coloured colour coat like springtime yellow as it can alter the shade.
