So the parts sourcing is now moving inside and I think I'd like a new gauge set up.
Mustangs to fear have a neat one (http://www.mustangstofear.com/page.php?page=parts_catalog&yr=69-70&cat=interior&scat=carbon_fiber_interior_pieces&prod=gauge_clusters_with_lights) but it has 5" speedo and tach. My old bones think this is a bit too japper drifty and would like smaller; around 3 3/8".

Does any one know of decent looking bezels that have the smaller gauges? I got to page 12 on google with no luck today.

Or, curve ball, anyone handy who could make one for me, using original speedo and tach mounts and the outer ones from MTF?

It also needs to be plain jane black or textured like the original dash set up.

Have you had a look at the options from Dakota digital?

Yes, not keen on digital. I want to keep it period looking.

I found Marshall Instruments have the gauges I want just now to find a bezel to suit the 3-3/8" speedo and tach.

Have you had a look at the Mustangs unlimited site ??

I have a 70 fastback that has the JME dash setup in a woodgrain finish
Yes it runs the 5" speedo and Tacho but it looks sweet.
look at
www.mustangsunlimited....y=EMUSTANG

I am an old fart and I am very happy with this setup

Cheers

I have seen them but the total package is a bit exxy.

But, no one seems to de the 3-3/8" so I may have to go with the bigger ones

Isn't there anyone in Sydney that has a set up you can check out.
As i said I am very happy with my set up
If you look closely the actual layout of the gauges on the panel vary.

The best I can offer is to try and get some photos of my setup and post
them so you have an idea of how they will look

Cheers and good luck

Dakota do a nice analog package that fits the original dash..

Yes, I am looking closely at the Dakota stuff, along with others. I want black face gauges so the impact may be lessened.

Whitewun if you could put up some shots sitting in the seat I'd appreciate it

I bought the Dakota Digital VHX analogue set up through Summit for my 69. Black Alloy faces with blue back lighting. I got the metric set with kmh speedo. I haven't fitted it yet but comes with very detailed instructions and all the sensors needed. Looks to be a relatively simple install. Cost about AU$950 landed.

I have fitted a couple for customers and they are a very good setup.
Expensive but complete and straight forward. Plenty of room for growth built into them too.

have you tried google
try entering 1970 ford mustang instrument panel
about three rows down is a photo of the JME panel
click on that and you should see three or four photos
of the panel in a gutted interior
Also it appears that you can get black faced gauges for
this set up

these photos would probably give you the best idea of the finished
product

as an added bonus there a photos of several different set ups

Cheers

I have the JME panel and Autometer Phantom gauges.

It's a nice setup and easy to install. The panel itself is waaay overpriced (in this day and age of 3D printers) and will take some modification to your wiring harness to get going.

I would buy again.

Oh, I'm told after sales isn't crash hot with JME, but I haven't had to call them.

I am now leaning towards the Dakota Digital ones. I really wanted to use the gauges from Marshall Instruments www.marshallinstrument...p2_led.cfm but they only do the 3-3/8" main gauges, but the ancillary gauges are separate, which I like.

Issue is, Marshall are about $300 cheaper and probably do the same thing, but the Mustangs to fear bezel only take 5" main gauges. Am toying with putting in a reducer/flange into the bezel to take the small main gauges, but not sure if that will look dicky or not.

Aren't 1st world problems the worst kind?
