Just added it to my cart as I was interested to see and with postage your looking at $1260 US so the $1600 you got quoted seems good to me.

The question on the diff Astro and I discussed was to see if the diff shop could do a comparable price considering the current AU $ and shipping. Kind of academic exercise along the lines of they may have stock they purchased at a better $ so maybe competitive.
As for the cam The Voodoo will be what we us, astro is not planing to rev it hard so in a 351 that one should give nice throttle response and make power to mid 5k rpm, the Aod has a 2500 stall also. Thinking along the lines of 3.5 diff, perhaps just need to do the math, want to keep the engine on the cam in overdrive. Astro plans on plenty of highway miles.

Sounds perfect to me. AOD + 3.55 with a Cam that will be mid range strong. So yes indeed should be a good combination.

BTW: You surfing the web when you should be at the beach...........

Most diff places down here in Sydney that I have enquired with were quoting around $1,800 if you took the housing to them to install a True Trac, or about $2k for a drive in drive out service, and that was when the exchange rate was about 10% better than now. So if the joint has a good reputation, $1,600 does indeed sound like a good deal if you don't want to muck around with it yourself.

A couple more baskets on the way with engine goodies.
Plus I've picked up a Maier Racing tower brace kit and an Ididit steering column. The column was $411 US, from Jegs with shipping of $45 US which is fairly reasonable.

I did notice that PayPal skimming the exchange rate at 78.07 cents on the orders when it sits at 80.70 on the money market.

Gotta watch the bastards Impatient

Cheers

You never get the money market rate & that rate you got compared to the "market" is actually good .......

From here Dave: www.maiermotorsports.c...stiffening

I have asked them for a shipping quote up front as that's the way they work, haven't received it yet.

Cheers
