Dove has done FE heads for some time. So has Edelbrock.

As for telling and FE type from the outside, as noted, very hard. Casting numbers and date codes and the combination of components can be an indicator, but to be sure you really have to tear it down.

Link notes a "410" not a 390, but again hard to tell. Would need more info on casting/date codes. As the pistons and cam were changes all bets are off as once you start changing that much its a rebuild and morphed into a "restomod engine". So as the FE blocks were somewhat interchangeable the original code becomes somewhat moot in most cases...

For those interested its mostly engine bay electrical and interior works at the moment.

Had a long chat with Bill Williamson from Ron Davis Radiators today!

Brilliant!. Taught me heaps and has left me feeling very confident with the final solution. Highly recommend him if you have cooling issues. Once I decide on the final solution for the Big Block I'll post it. Thanks Steve for the Ron Davis mention.......

So had a chat with an auto specialist. He poo pooed the idea of a radiator with a trans cooler built-in for Brisbane. As I've already got a cooler in place he suggested very strongly that I should keep and not integrate it.

Thoughts?

Imported from Utah 2010 as a good solid car needing minor body repairs. Imported specifically to build a GT500 replica, a Shelby tribute.

BODY: - Cobranda fibre glass kit
- Shelby badges and rocker stripes
- Has new front floor pans and bottom of rear quarters
- New guards
- 2-Pack PPG paint
- Passenger side torque box added
- Subframe connectors to stiffen chassis

DRIVETRAIN
- 428 CID from a '66 Thunderbird Q-code
- 0.030" rebuild - MSD ignition with 6AL CDI
- 750 Vac.Sec. Holley
- Cobra alloy sump, air-cleaner and valve covers
- Engine oil cooler and remote filters
- 'Desert Cooler' alloy radiator and twin thermo fans
- C6 with 2,300RPM stall converter
- Lokar shifter (looks speed)
- Trans cooler
- Stainless braided lines
- 3-1/2" HD tailshaft, 1330 uni joints
- 9" Diff, Nodular diff with Ford Detroit Locker
- 3.50:1 gears with 31-Spline axles
- 17x8 Shelby 10-spoke wheels Falken FK452 255/45R 225/45F

SUSPENSION
- Shelby dropped A-arms w/ negative camber wedges

- All new arms, bushes, Pedders shocks, steering links

- 1" Front sway bar, 3/4" rear bar
- 4-wheel RRS Ph3 rear, UPC/PBR 305mm fronts, new braided and steel lines

INTERIOR
- Deluxe trim with alloy inserts
- 8,000RPM tacho dash
- Shelby gauge pod
- A/C vents in dash (ready for air retrofit)
