Hey guys, with the car now only three weeks away (boy, am I excited) Ive started thinking about disc brake conversions. With drums all round its going to be very high on 'the list' I was going to go down the standard brake conversion for easy but now really keen on a four wheel conversion slotted with cool looking callipers (safety first!) Whats peoples experience/thoughts on this. Any recommendations for manufacturer?

Standard won't require engineers report.

What other mods are on the mustang?

ACT is hit and miss with rego; a 67 vert required engineers report for falcon brakes.

Goldscode has a set of factory ones from his car, I put falcons on it to get the taller stub axles for more camber.

According to the inspector who looked at mine, mustangs did not come with disc brakes.
Dom with 67 vert needed a report from ray regarding falcon brakes that were installed

You'll no choice but to engineer them in that case as you would in any other state.

I think Gbx78 still have some Wilwoods for sale at a very reasonable price.

I will someday think of something clever to say.

One other consideration is wheel size...
Assuming yours is the pic in your avatar ?
Will it get past rego with large dia rims?

Unless you go to the larger rotor sizes, there is no real world benefit in using wilwoods. and in doing so, you limit your choice of rim size.. which may have rego issues in your state..

Agree with SP.. XF brakes are cheap, effective, and parts are readily available locally.. you can get RDA rotors to suit in std/slotted/cross-drilled..
And they fit under stock rims

If you must go wilwoods, pay attention to the calliper type.. as not all wilwood callipers include dust seal.. which seem to be mandatory in all states..
Alternatively, all Baer callipers do from my understanding

Cheers,
Birchy...

I am not aware if any rule against the diameter of the rim on a passenger car. Do you have any details?

I am aware of the width (wheel track) limits of which the large majority of non-factory rimmed mustangs do not comply though in general it is not an issue.

As far as the rest I in general agree.
